New dining options at Southland Casino —
The Fry House has enticing menu items
WEST MEMPHIS — Looking for Southern-fried homestyle cooking? The Fry House at Southland Casino, which recently opened as a part of the casino’s major expansion, is just the ticket.
The Fry House is now serving up traditional fried chicken tenders, fried catfish filet, hand-cut French fries and so much more, plus all the fixin’s. Save room for dessert, though, because the fried pies and ice cream are sure to please.
The Fry House also has local craft beer and seasonal craft cocktails as well as Fry House Bourbon Lemonade, this in addition to bottled and fountain drinks. Draft beers include selections from Wiseacre Brewing Company, Ghost
River Brewing Company and High
Cotton Brewing Company.
The Fry House is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Looking over the menu, the chicken section has a lot to offer. There’s a signature chicken sandwich featuring marinated chicken, Pepper Jack cheese, mayo, Memphis slaw, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle on a potato bun.
Chicken tenders are a big part
of the menu and can be seasoned
a variety of ways - lemon pepper,
lucky dust, Cajun, garlic Parmesan
and Buffalo. Dipping sauces include honey mustard, ranch, Cajun ranch, BBQ, honey BBQ, Buffalo and ketchup. Order the hand- battered, marinated, 100% premium chicken tenders in 2, 4, 6 or 8-piece baskets. We got the chicken tenders with garlic Parmesan - delicious, especially with the honey mustard dipping sauce. Yum!
Catfish is also available as filets and as a sandwich, served with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and a house tartar sauce. The sandwich comes with coleslaw and sweet potato hush puppies. Catfish plates are available with one, two or three pieces of fish. These selections, too, are served with coleslaw and sweet potato hushpuppies. Sampled the catfish and it was fried to perfection and hot and flaky on the inside. Fresh-cut fries are available cooked to order by the half-pound, pound or more. Toppings can be added for $1. They include garlic, garlic Parmesan and Cajun.
Available sides, in addition to the Memphis coleslaw, fries and sweet potato hush puppies, include honey biscuits, fried okra, five- cheese mac ‘n’ cheese and Southern potato salad.
Salad selections include a tender house salad that incorporates chicken, fresh greens, cheddar cheese, eggs, tomatoes and croutons
to create an appetizing blend of flavors, and a tender Cobb salad to whet any appetite. It is composed of fresh greens, chicken, bacon, tomatoes, croutons and avocado ranch.
Old fashioned hand pies available include cherry, banana, chocolate, peach, apple and bourbon pecan bacon and can be had a la mode for extra. Chocolate and vanilla ice cream are also available.
The opening of The Fry House the is one of many spring openings for Southland, which recently cut the ribbon and celebrated its new expanded gaming floor, which measures two- and-a-half football fields long.
