includes iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, onions, carrots and tomatoes. For extra, one can add chicken, fried chicken or shrimp.
Fish also stars at OG Bird in the form of a catfish platter, a shrimp platter, a catfish- and-shrimp platter and in a sampler platter. We sampled the generous catfish platter and found the catfish to be hot, crispy and delicious. The six catfish strips came with seasoned Cajun fries, creamy coleslaw and hushpuppies. The slaw, fries and the tartar sauce were a treat for the tastebuds and complemented the catfish well. The fries, slaw and hushpuppies are served with all seafood platters.
The shrimp platter comes with a generous 10 pieces of breaded shrimp and the catfish-and-shrimp platter comes with four pieces of catfish and six shrimp. Want it all? Try the OG Sampler Platter with two chicken tenders, two pieces of catfish and four pieces of shrimp along with the fries, coleslaw and hushpuppies. The seafood
platters range from $17.99 to 19.99.
A selection of sandwiches guaranteed to whet any appetite include a Philly cheese steak (grilled steak with sauteed onions, peppers, mayo and cheese served on a Hoagie bun), a surf-and-turf Philly cheese steak (the Philly with shrimp added), a chicken tender po’ boy (hand-breaded chicken tenders served on a Hoagie bun with lettuce, tomato and special sauce), and Bird’s All-American Burger (1/2 pound of beef patty served on a freshly baked bun with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion and mayo). Sandwiches range from $10.99 to
$13.99 and for extra can come as a combo. Available treats include chocolate cake,
homemade apple pie and classic pecan pie. OB Bird is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight. Southern fried goodness is available daily at 1st Jackpot. Now that’s a
