Motorists traveling in northwest Mississippi gained access to Interstate 269 when the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) opened the final nine-mile segment of the interstate in October of 2018. For commercial and tourism traffic, I-269 has given travelers a more efficient route be- tween I-40 and I-55 and helped them avoid
congestion in the Memphis metro area. More specifically for Tunica County and its six casinos, because I-269 connects to I-69 at I-55, it provides quick and conve- nient access to the casinos for people travel-
