TUNICA — The production of “One Night in Memphis” is showcasing its tribute to rock legends at Gold Strike Casino Resort on Friday, Jan. 12, at 8 p.m.
“One Night in Memphis” is an exciting tribute to Sun Records legends Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Elvis Pre- sley. The production was created by acclaimed show director John Mueller and delivers over 90 minutes of rockabilly, country, gos- pel and 1950’s rock ‘n’ roll, performed live by a dynamic rockabilly backup band.
“One Night in Memphis” promises an unparalleled entertain- ment experience that is garnering critical acclaim, sold-out shows and standing ovations.
On Dec. 4, 1956, history was made as these iconic artists con- verged at Sun Records studio in Memphis, Tennessee. Carl Perkins, joined by his brothers and drummer W.S. Holland, were recording new material with Jerry Lee Lewis, an emerging piano virtuoso, en- listed by Sam Phillips to join this session. Unexpectedly, Elvis Pre- sley, the reigning showbiz sensation, made a visit. This impromptu jam session produced an enduring legacy that continues to inspire artists today.
